Setup Help

How to setup the Medirota system

Step 1: Configure Roles

First go to the "Roles" tab at https://wsc.medirota.com/roles/ to define the types of roles required in your department. These typically refer to the grades of person you need to roster. For example: consultant, SpR and SHO.

Step 2: Configure Activities

Now go to the "Activities" tab at https://wsc.medirota.com/activities/ to define the sorts of activities that go on within your department.

You will see a list of activities already made for your department. Go to the "Add Activity" button to add more.

Standard, Oncall and Leave are the 3 types of activity that can be created. When these activities operate can also be specified.

Once you have saved the activity, where it shows in the rota can be changed by dragging the activity up and down in the listing.

Step 3: Configure People and Templates

People can be added to the system in a similar way to activities by simply creating a profile for the relevant person. Go to https://wsc.medirota.com/people/ to do this.

After making a profile for a person, go on to define the templates for that person. The templates define what activities a person normally does each week.

To define templates, first choose which activities that person does. If someone only does an activity occasionally, you still need to include that activity in the list.

After defining which activities a person can do, choose to make templates based on the pattern of their activity. If they normally work on a 2 week repeating pattern, choose a template repeating "Every 2nd week".

Changes to people's templates only occur for non-setup weeks

There is a longer description of how to manage templating in the templating help page at https://wsc.medirota.com/help/templating.

Now you can go to the main rota page at https://wsc.medirota.com/rota/ and start using Medirota.
